Let us share our purist tears, anon. I'm sad that the movie didn't explore more than one or two of Holmes' weakness- I read a beautiful story about Holmes telling Watson about the consolations in the sky, which was TOTALLY RUINED by the little ACD inside of me, who raeg'd because of the discussion Holmes and Watson have inside ASIS about the solar system.

I hate to break it to you, anon, but ACD's canon is full of internal contradictions. Where was Watson wounded again? How many times was he married?

For a guy who, according to A Study in Scarlet, knows nothing about anything except detection, Holmes sure is knowledgeable about music, throws a lot of literary allusions into his conversation, etc. etc.

And since we're being pedantic, I believe you mean "constellations." Although "consolations in the sky" is a rather lovely phrase.

In through the shoulder, out through the knee.

How many times was he married.

Two-and-a-half or three, depending on whether you subscribe to the theory he was divorcing or divorced when he met with Holmes at St Bart's about the rooms at Baker St, also depending who you believed he married after The Final Problem.
