Sometimes I think wincesters have spent too many years arguing in justification of their ship. It seems like some of them are just no longer able to understand why people wouldn't like it.

What high horse? Do I ship Sam/Dean? No. Will I occasionally read Sam/Dean if the plot looks interesting? Yes.

But I'm not alone in running across people who seem pretty damn offended by the fact that I have no real interest in wincest. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt when I attribute that to the years they spent defending their ship rather then assuming they're batshit OTPers. Constantly defending a ship will make anyone overprotective of it and that's what people had to do the first few years of fandom. I'm thinking it's become habit for some people.

There are people in all fandoms that can get overprotective of their OTPs or pairings. Wincesters are no better or worse that others, so stop generalizing like we are forcing you poor not interested souls into reading and liking it based on one secret.

Where did I say all wincesters? I was very careful not to generalize. Some =/= all. Reading comprehension is a good thing to have. Also not automatically assuming the worst of someone when they make a comment.

S4 episode After School Special does flashbacks to their childhood and those are Sam and Dean as kids. Or at least Dean's a senior and Sam's in 9th grade. Or something. Not one of my favorite episodes.
