Eeeee Fred/Gunn icon! I loved them during that period in the beginning, uncomfortably disliked execution towards the middle-ish/end, but when they broke up I wanted them back together again. Also to rub in Wesley's face because he was such a dick about it. :/ But yeah, he was SO CREEPY. Instead of my heart breaking when he said he loved her since he met her "I think even before [that/I met you]", I was only "you're creepy, she's just close to an idealized version in your head and...oh yeah, you're CREEPY :/". Wesley/Lilah, Wesley/Illyria are my preferred pairings for S3/4/5 Wesley.

I adore Fred/Gunn, partly because I feel like someone ought to. I'm not wild about how the relationship ended, but S4 has a few problems. And, yeah, Wes was so clearly an asshole far before the Connor shit went down. He gave these two way too much crap about their relationship right when it was starting out, bitching and moaning because she 'chose' Gunn.

IITA on the Lilah-Illyria issue. Wes is a cool character post-kidnapping, but if you're going to be an angsting, hate-sex-with-the-enemy, gun-toting badass - then you really have to run with it and just keep messing around with Lilah and/or Illyria. You can't still moon hopelessly over Fred, putting her up on a pedistol and showing no signs of understanding that she's a real person. It kinda ruins the image.[/rant]
