Classic Whovian Wank Ahoy

Everyone who's been watching the show since before your parents were a gleam in your grandparents' eyes, knows the deal. All this "I don't like Ten!" "Ten's grown on me!" "Don't kill Nine!", "Ten will always be my doctor!" etc. (OK OK the runs are a little shorter than they were, but hell, Three and Four left some pretty big shoes to fill, y/y?)
But now? NOW the show is involved in it?
"I don't want to go." ?? Cue the baaaawwwwing of the fanbrats and the gagging of the old-timers (me included) (OK only me).
Seriously, What The Actual Fuck? Ten regenerations, he should know the score by now. Also, ALSO! The regeneration usually comes at the cost of, oh, saving the world/universe/companions/etc., something selfless (yeah yeah I only read the recaplet on TWoP so shoot me with the sonic screwdriver already), from what I'm seeing, this one? Not so much.
See, see, this is why I stopped watching regularly after Tinkerbell Jesus. (That said, I only saw Tinkerbell Jesus, and the last half-hour, at that.) I did see the one where Dalek Caan showed the Dr his dark side (Um. WAT.) and then bits and pieces of the one with the companion from the future who basically looks like they're going to be shacked up through time and space. (Um. NO.) I half-paid attention through Waters of Mars.
And that secret with Eleven in three kinds of compromising positions with three different people? Way to be a kids' show! Lest we forget, the show will now be taken over by the same man who brought us PedoBearDoctor Grooms the Girl in the Fireplace.....
If I catch sight of Eleven while channel-surfing, I'll probably stop and watch a few minutes. But FFS, Moffat, Eleven better be kick-ass and not all "I don't want to go," and/or slobbering all over everything female on legs.
To keep me glued to the TV? Eleven needs Ace (or a reasonable facsimile thereof). Everything is better with Ace! And, oh yes, Four's crazysauce. Also! Drop the woe-is-me-I-destroyed-my-planet-and-my-people-Imma-Timelord-with-teh-PTSD (Can we please drop that gaaaawwwdawful movie from canon now? Please? Pretty please? With a jelly baby on top?) If nothing else bring back UNIT and Three's clothes!! A Moonrover version of Bessie?? Something, ANYTHING, that resembles the show I've watched for more decades than I care to recount.....
