It's really easy for me to save money in Where Winds Meet because the overwhelming majority of clothing and cosmetic items are so OTT that they're just so ugly to me. I wouldn't want them gifted, let alone pay money for them.
If they actually released some more low-key outfits that aren't overloaded to hell and back I'd be in trouble. But right now? Pass.

I remember and miss the old pre-2012 era of TV Tropes. I also hate how they removed the Real Life examples of most Tropes. They were some of my fave parts of the site

The only storyline I'm interested in following into the next season of 5 Star Weekend is Brooke's.

The owner of a fandom discord server I'm in (and I’m very fond of this server) started dating another very prominent member in this discord server. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable blow-up on this server if they break up. It was fun while it lasted I guess.

I kinda dislike how most early (90s era) western Sonic adaptations tend to Portray Eggman as Ambiguously Human: They tend to give him inhuman features like red eyes with black sclera and sometimes a robot arm.

Those features, combined with the fact he apparently lives on a planet called Mobius (which is almost entirely inhabited by anthro animals) made it hard to tell if he's supposed to be a human or not (a very humanoid alien/cyborg perhaps?).

I'm sorry to say it but some of the western cover (and interior) artworks for official danmei translations are kind of ugly/unprofessional looking. Some look just unfinished and rushed, some have kind of wonky anatomy and the overall design is often just too childishly colourful and overloaded. On a more personal note, I hate some of the character designs and styles.

But it's nice that they don't use AI at least.

Games thread!

ngl I did not even consider that these traits might be intended to make him read as non-human. it just seemed sort of an obvious fit with the environmental message, like of course the only human is also responsible for all pollution in the world

I do wish more artists would study anatomy. I'd rather have something proportional (or at least come with a good explanation as to why it isn't) over "pretty."

[(Anonymous)]

Hmm... is neither capable of handling relationships in a mature manner? Or is it just a fear?

[(Anonymous)]

I like most of them. I guess there's no accounting for taste.

[(Anonymous)]

I think the worst are always the sword fight artworks. (... no pun intended in this genre)
They always look like the characters are just holding the blades against each other with no force whatsoever behind it.

[(Anonymous)]

This. It was honestly part of the environmental message back in the day (if you look at the first two games, you go through green pastures and hills and cities with tech and pollution are the final stages).

Unfortunately this has happened to me multiple times in multiple fandom spaces. A breakup between two prominent members fractures the community and/or completely ices it. I hope it doesn't happen but I haven't seen the inverse happen yet.
