It's really easy for me to save money in Where Winds Meet because the overwhelming majority of clothing and cosmetic items are so OTT that they're just so ugly to me. I wouldn't want them gifted, let alone pay money for them.
If they actually released some more low-key outfits that aren't overloaded to hell and back I'd be in trouble. But right now? Pass.

[(Anonymous)]

Hmmm. That is a bit gaudy. It's the bright pink and... I'm not sure what's up with the flags sticking out of her back but assume it's some kind of weapon or costume accessory?

I remember and miss the old pre-2012 era of TV Tropes. I also hate how they removed the Real Life examples of most Tropes. They were some of my fave parts of the site

[(Anonymous)]

When I read this, my pedantic-ass brain started 'Um, actually'ing about how it isn't a trope when it happens in real life, which is totally not the point, but I bet they got some feedback like that.

[(Anonymous)]

I miss that era too. It was great for a chuckle too.

Nowadays tvtropes is an overly sanitized shell of what it once was.

The only storyline I'm interested in following into the next season of 5 Star Weekend is Brooke's.

The owner of a fandom discord server I'm in (and I’m very fond of this server) started dating another very prominent member in this discord server. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable blow-up on this server if they break up. It was fun while it lasted I guess.

[(Anonymous)]

Hmm... is neither capable of handling relationships in a mature manner? Or is it just a fear?

[(Anonymous)]

You have my sympathies. Hopefully, if things end, both will handle it respectfully and maturely. But, having been in this situation myself multiple times, that is uncommon.

[(Anonymous)]

Wow, what a flashback to the days of group mailing lists!

I kinda dislike how most early (90s era) western Sonic adaptations tend to Portray Eggman as Ambiguously Human: They tend to give him inhuman features like red eyes with black sclera and sometimes a robot arm.

Those features, combined with the fact he apparently lives on a planet called Mobius (which is almost entirely inhabited by anthro animals) made it hard to tell if he's supposed to be a human or not (a very humanoid alien/cyborg perhaps?).

[(Anonymous)]

ngl I did not even consider that these traits might be intended to make him read as non-human. it just seemed sort of an obvious fit with the environmental message, like of course the only human is also responsible for all pollution in the world

[(Anonymous)]

I always assumed he was non human. Is he human?

I'm sorry to say it but some of the western cover (and interior) artworks for official danmei translations are kind of ugly/unprofessional looking. Some look just unfinished and rushed, some have kind of wonky anatomy and the overall design is often just too childishly colourful and overloaded. On a more personal note, I hate some of the character designs and styles.

But it's nice that they don't use AI at least.
