Well, there's Vampire Knight which touches on it quite a bit, if you like the whole manga thing. The anime was pretty good, but I've only seen the first season.

Oh, there's so much I could rec...mostly books. I've got quite the collection!

I'm trying to find somewhere that I can meet up with others to RolePlay that kind of thing, but, I'm having zero luck.

Heh, I started reading that, but I kind of lost where I was on OneManga and never got back into it (lol, same thing happened with One Piece x3).

And hey, books are awesome! I can always look for them in the library or something. x3

And I wish I could help on the RP thing. I just follow a couple for shits a giggles (and the only muses threatening to make me make accounts for them... aren't vampires so I can't help there. *sigh*)

I can say for sure you're not alone, OP. I get pretty bored of the same ol' scenario of the vampire/demon/what have you always teetering on the edge of losing control but never actually losing it (because their loved one intervenes usually) in fiction. I think the matter of instinct vs. emotion has always been rather interesting when it comes to such scenarios.

I will admit, I LOVE the extended self-denial of a vampire character who fights so hard against those predatory instincts. But, ultimately, the giving in, or losing it to those instincts is almost orgasmic in it's release, then the angst afterwards just...makes me shiver with joy.

I think it's quite understandable when you examine the raw need that the desire comes from. Keeping it pent up for so long would drive a hungry vampire crazy, I'd imagine. It would add more interesting conflict to some stories if the authors would consider addressing it. It's what makes vampires scary in the first place, I think.

Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series had a very interesting idea of it. If memory serves, the main character Anita was having a threesome with two vampires in Cerulean Sins, and it turned out one of the vampire's (Asher was his name) strengths was giving a very orgasmic bite. It led to some interesting conflict. The series hasn't been doing well in a while in terms of quality but the vampire elements, for their part, were very intriguing.

Similar happened in Mercades Lackey's book, Children of the Night. The vampire, by the name of Andre, had a similar orgasmic bite.

He was hurt badly, so the heroine nicked her wrist with a knife so that she could feed him. He didn't have the same need going on (That I can remember) but even unconcious he was still able to offer her that bliss.

I've got my own vampire world that I play within, and my vampire characters can do something similar, but it depends on a variety of factors.

If you want to talk more about it, I'd be happy to message you! I could go on for hours. It makes me a rather boring person.

Factors--that's good. I think setting limits and establishing what can and can't happen is a sign of doing it right when it comes to tinkering with supernatural creature mythos. Not everyone can do it so well.

Message away if you'd like! :) I'm happy to have a conversation about vampires that's actually enjoyable for once. (The only ones I've seemed to have lately involve Twilight, and in my friend circle the subject just puts everyone in a bad mood.)

Vampire Knight's been on my list of things to watch for awhile, but I think I keep putting if off because I know how hard I'll be sucked in. (Pun intended.) I've had an obsession with vampire related things for a very long time.
