Not just the Hebrew version. =D On YouTube you can find versions in many other languages, and the song is still beautiful in all of them - more so, in a way, in how universal it seems to be.

Heh. That happened to me too, driving back to my old college for a career-fair thing. It made me feel immensely better, and madly worked up for the whole thing. Still is one of my key inspirational songs.

Yessss... The Plagues vies with When You Believe for my favorite piece from that movie, actually.

I completely agree, though, that it would be nice if more people knew and appreciated the movie. Even if you're neither Christian nor Jewish, the story is inspiring and wonderfully told in the movie. The bond between Moses and Ramses and the way it was torn apart makes my heart clench every time I watch it - which is yet another reason why it's hard for me to pick between When You Believe and The Plagues.

And from an artistic perspective, I love the style in which it's animated, too - with the eyes and so forth done to mimic hieroglyphs in a way...

Why do pop artists always do this to disney/ animated movie songs, and it always fucks them up? It makes me want to slap them.

But yes, I own the soundtrack to this movie, because it is awesome, and I am well aware of its awesomitude.

Ikr?! I understand it is a huge opportunity to showcase your talents as animated movies of this magnitude are so far reaching, but save some for the live performances. PoE was the worst I've seen it get tho'.

And the score is so....gah. 'Deliver Us,' 'Heaven's Eyes' and 'Burning Bush' are just gorgeous. It was so sad Ofra Haza died just before it was released. :(

I also hate the bluegrass/country/whatever versions of the music. It took me forever to track down a copy of the actual soundtrack. I kept finding the pop versions and so forth. >__<


_{Although... I have to say some pop/rock music versions of animated movie songs aren't necessarily half bad. The punk/etc. versions of The Nightmare Before Christmas tracks, for instance, are actually fun to listen to. ... although the key part of that might be that they're not pop.}
