I've done both of those before, but basically only once. I tend to post every few weeks, though.

Also, way to be judgmental about something you know nothing about, anon.

Re: Posting more that once the same day

Or maybe it's their day off, they decided to search for something to read and found nothing but bad fics so they rant to kill some time and refresh themselves before going back to search something good.

[identity profile] lvsinsanity.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
^ this. FF.net is rife with badfics, it's not like it's hard to find a bucket load in a short span of time.

[identity profile] 0o0f.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't need to purposedly seek out bad fanfics, though.

But, yeahh, I haven't really read that community in ages, so.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I kinda know what you mean, although I don't read that comm. It's one thing to laugh when something weird jumps out at you, but people who seek it out non-stop are weird, or people who put tons of effort into mocking. After a point it's just like...then don't read it.

[identity profile] lilweirdomokyn.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a member of the community, and my problem is in how active it is generally. If you find something that does annoy you, yes, it's there to rant about. But sometimes people nitpick one sentence that isn't that bad, or complain about things that have been repeated into infinity.

Stopping before this becomes a Calvin&Hobbes comic, ranting about people who rant.

[identity profile] asimaiyat.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Is it just me or have there been eleventy billion misspelling or homonym rants in the past couple of weeks? It's kind of ridiculous, IMO.

I'm pretty much there for the characterization discussions and LOLsex.

[identity profile] stfu-rightnow.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed on all points!

FFrants used to have some really awesome fanfic analysis/characterisation discussion, but now it's all "You made a typo, you fail at life!" or really wanky shit.

ansela_jonla is a troll

thought I'd throw that out there.

No, she's not

[identity profile] delwynmarch.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Thought I'd correct that misconception.

[identity profile] carey-pontmercy.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Is that on average? If so, I can see your point, but do you seriously judge a person if they happen to find two things to rant about on the same day? Anyway, that's not how all rants come about. Sometimes, it's more of a "general problem in fandom" thing.

[identity profile] korinacaffeine.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
I think it bothers me more to see rants that are just "threw =/= through" or "you're =/= your." Yes, this has been ranted about to fucking death and is there really a reason to say it again?

idk, just my opinion. I guess if it really bothers you, go for it, but I'm one of those people who doesn't like to rant unless it's something uncommonly terrible.

Also, the term YMMV irks me. I really can't say why. Maybe it's because it's used so goddamn much.

[identity profile] asimaiyat.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
This, oh my god. "I saw a misspelling on the internet!" is not something to make a post about to a community of hundreds of people.

[identity profile] stfu-rightnow.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
For me, YMMV has lost all meaning, since it's used on basically every post now. Even when it was just beginning to be used, it seemed pointless - obviously everyone has different thoughts/opinions, why do you even need to say that!

I like to think the people who post a lot are reporting it, kinda like on F!W. i'm probably wrong, but it makes them seem less moronic
