Marluxia is a diluted form of Grell? Oh yeah, it makes *so* much sense, after all Marly is *totally* a precious Hard Gay yearning for a vagina lol lol lol

Yeah, I'll have to agree. I love both characters, but Marluxia isn't nearly as FABULOUS as fandom would make him out to be.

This was pretty much my reaction. I don't know anything about the canon Grell is from, but what I do know about him through fandom tells me that is not Marluxia.

I really think the OP was going almost entirely by character design and character design only (and maybe a little fanon with regards to Marluxia's potential fabulous-ness). I mean, if we gave Marluxia glasses and longer hair, they'd kinda match up looks-wise.

Of course, in all other respects beyond appearances, this theory makes no sense. But that's hardly the point of a crack theory, right?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that crack theories are ones that the proposer /knows/ are utterly impossible but which he or she proposes primarily for the sake of humor/ridiculousness. ^^;

...But they don't have the same chara design at all, imho. Both their hair are long, ok, but it's not the same length, not the same shape, nor the same color, or anything... Grell has pointy teeth... and green eyes... and glasses... and thin features, while Marluxia is more heavily built. They don't have similar weapon at all either. Even their voices are on the opposite sides of the spectrum.

The only similarity that looks obvious to me is Grell's characterization and that fabulous fanon take on Marluxia, especially since the secret maker chose a picture where Grell is acting silly, instead of one where he could be looking deadly and dangerous (why did he have to become such a comical character after the end of the Ripper arc? D: )

I see your point and I love crack theories myself, but I won't buy this one. Marluxia is molested enough by the fandom as it is :/

I thought Marluxia had green eyes...? I must be misremembering, then. I was thinking the similarities were more than apparently they are... With the weapons, though, I think the OP was going for a heavily modified scythe, which both have. And with the hair, yes on the length, but I'd say the styles are similar enough. I mean, not all of the other Nobodies and Somebodies had /really/ matching hair, either. Sure, Sora and Roxas had matching eyes and face shape, but their hair didn't match up any more than Grell's and Marluxia's does, imo.

Anyway, fair enough, and I see your points, as well. =)

I must admit that I don't pay much attention to the KH fandom, so seeing Marluxia occasionally made out to be, uh, fabulous doesn't really bother me. (I've played all the games - it's just seeing so much bad fanfiction after the first game put me off the fandom for life. ^^; )

I admit I enjoy some of the comedy with him later on, but it would have been nice in the anime to include some of his more violent side in later appearances to keep more of a balance, like how he was introduced - a mixture of ridiculousness and dangerousness. I keep hoping he'll pop in in the manga again, though.)}
