That picture made my gramama upset, but she doesn't hate the gays. She grew up during the depression, so the food-waste squicked her hard. :(

Riiiight. Because if someone thinks it's gross when a person pours kefir over their face they obviously have a problem with gay sex. When I look at that picture the last thing I think about is sex of any kind. I think 'Why the fuck is that guy pouring kefir on his face?!? That's gross!'

I think it's a gross picture because it's a guy intentionally dousing himself with food. It's a waste of perfectly good kefir.

Plus, I have a personal issue with anything, even water, being poured over my face; I go into full blown fear-for-my-life panic mode. I blame a near-drowning accident when I was a kid.

Just because I get severely uncomfortable when seeing some dude get a bunch of thick white stuff in the face while wearing an expression of supreme pleasure doesn't mean I have a problem with the gays. GOD.

'Kay, a squick is a squick, but it really has nothing to do with the actor's performance in the show. Misha Collins' performance in Supernatural is quite straight-laced and deadpan. It works quite well, I think, to highlight Castiel's otherness.

His off-screen persona is the manic, crazy one. Actually, it's rather fascinating to watch how he interacts with fandom. It's a weirdly effective way to engage without exposing any more of "himself" than he wants to.

Ummm...I must be dense. Implied homosexuality? I mean, is this supposed to be a parody of a cum shot or something? Because I don't really see it that way. I just see it as some guy pouring yogurt-junk on his face. *shrug*

I can't speak to his specific intent in taking the picture, but there's a very obvious connotation of "money shot" and you see a lot of people reading it that way, just like the white-liquid-splash film with Zachary Quinto.

Huh? I love the picture and have seen it a million times, and my mind never once made that connection. However, due to several hot days during highschool meaning my bag permanantly smelt like off-yogurt, I can understand people not liking the idea of dairy products all over someone's face.

Honestly, all we know for sure about the picture is that it involves Misha being silly; there's no intrinsic connection to homosexuality, or any other sexual connotations, for that matter. What you see in it =/= what everyone else sees.
