A lot of that had to do with the Writer's srike, though.

Yeah, I know, it still killed the show's momentum etc. though. It just felt like a bunch of filler with the exception of a few good episodes. It's basically the boys solving case after case with no real progression. I think if they returned to that formula, it'd be just as boring.

I think so too. Although I like a lot of the episodes in S3 I wouldn't be opposed to them returning to a format like that of S2. Still the MOTW style hunts but with more of a purpose ie hunting down things that got out of the devil's gate.
