I uh looked up the allspark almanac up at my local Indigo and was very disappointed they didn't have it.

Sure, it's a kids show, but it's a very well written kids show. The writers showed respect to the franchise, and made it appealing to both the older fans(those who could stand the new art style, anyway)and for the new, younger viewers.

It's not perfect, of course, especially with the last season which was cut too short IMO, but it's entertaining.

Dude, TFA is freaking AMAZING. My parents watched it with me. LOVE IT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, AND BUY THE ALMANAC. Because that's amazing, too, and written from an in-universe perspective-- so you, like, get Swindle talking about how much he like Angry Archer's shtick. XD

Seriously? It's one of the few cartoons that's come out in the last several years that both children and adults can enjoy. There's stuff in there that will sail over kids' heads ('fistful of energon' and all the G1 nods) that only someone past puberty would get/find funny, as well as stuff kids enjoy. Plus, it's funny--without going 'enemy scrotum' or fart jokes.

Are you me, secret-maker? I checked out the cartoon after seeing the movies, but I didn't expect to love it the way I do. Despite being a toy vehicle and a kids' show, it's sharply written and full of characters I love. I even started buying the toys because I'm easy that way.

I don't watch Transformers in any incarnation and I never had, but as far as I'm concerned any show animated by Studio 4°C, one of my favorite Japanese animation studios, deserves a little more credit than being called "wannabe anime." Even if it doesn't get to claim to be 100% anime.

Maaan secrets like this always hurt me just a bit even though I know the OP isn't trying to attack anyone. But I can't help but think "if you think you should grow up, what do you think of me who's REEEALLY into a show that's pretty much the same thing?"

But anyway, yeah, have fun OP. Like what you like. You don't need to grow up. It's boring when you grow up.

You clearly haven't seen the age and size of the TFA fandom. :)

My favorite television series of all time was made by a lot of the same people (same animators, shared some directors, and I firmly believe that this got inspiration from it) and it was one WEIRD show with crazy antics and some kinda lame plots, but darnit, the plot overarching the whole thing was rather thought out for the age group, and the characters were lovable like woah. TFA is the same way.

P.S. I'm planning to be an animation writer. If growing up means getting over cartoons, then screw that.

Cuz it's awesome?

Seriously, it was a really well-written show, and hella entertaining. Heck, the art even got better after awhile, and the characters were all great. And as previously pointed out, while it may be a 20-minute commercial for eight-year-olds, the writers didn't treat it as such--they clearly set about making the kind of show they would enjoy watching.

Or do you really think little kids are gonna understand lines like "Don't just stand there with your pistons in your servos!" and get the irony of an episode named "Mission Accomplished" about clueless military leaders making a pointless guesture of hollow victory?

DON'T TRY TO DENY YOURSELF THE AWESOME.

TF:A is a fabulous show. Prior to having seen it, the only TF series I liked was Beast Wars, which is one of the less popular series. But I fell in love with the quirky, goofy TF:A characters and stories almost right away!

The Allspark Almanac is a fabulous book, BTW. I'm just sad it doesn't include season three, since I loved some of the eps from that season.
