I agree so hard. My first experiences with fandom included utter bewilderment that people pretend like they really like actors' personalities. What? The character is who you know. The actor is just some random dude (or dudette). The only thing we really know about actors is what they look like. That's the only thing we can honestly appreciate.

YES!!!

When you become a fan of the actor himself, there's a big chance for disappointment when they turn out to be a douche. I am fan of many actors/singers/writers for their talent. I can only think of six that I find inspiring/interesting as people. And three of those are dead. The ones that are alive do stupid things and they should...they're PEOPLE!!!! I hate the celeb as a demi-God thing. They put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us.
