What an awesome book series, right? I was reading it at the same time as a fandom friend, and she ended up being disappointed in it, but I don't know how. D:

I need to catch up on Maria+Holic. And I read Soul Eater for Kid because he is incredibly super awesome.

Oh man it really is. I didn't even know about it until summer of last year and all I heard was GREEK MYTHOLOGY and I had to read it. AAAAAAH MOVIE IN TWO WEEKS DO WANT SO BAD.

How far are you in Maria+Holic? It's a pretty epic series. And yes Kid is amazing. Chrona is my favorite though. Adorable wooooobie.

I seriously give any show with yuri a chance. Except Simoun. I have no idea but I can NEVER get the motivation to watch Simoun.

I actually had to read it because one of my favorite ficwriters was in the fandom hardcore and I wanted to understand what she was writing about. Not disappointed! It's reminding me how obsessed I was with Greek mythology when I was like. 10. I am terribly excited for the movie too!

Uhhhh I was actually caught up at some point but I don't think I've looked at it in six months. I was honestly disappointed when that one person turned out to be crossdressing? Because that meant it wasn't yuri.

daily_yuri for my fix. Oh, and rec no one has ever heard of: Otoboku~maidens are falling for me~ is set in a girls' school and though the main character is crossdressing there is a lot of yuri subtext with the other girls. o/

Have you heard he's making another Camp Half-Blood series in... fall I think it was? AND a book with Egyptian Mythology that's coming out in May? I swear to god that man is hitting the buttons of every mythology geek out there.

If it helps, Mariya has a twin sister named Shizu who also crossdresses. Except she hates men for very much the same reason Kanako does. It's hilarious.

As soon as I finished The Last Olympian I went online and looked that stuff up. SO THRILLED~~ After Greek mythology I was into Egyptian mythology so much, he is definitely hitting my buttons. I want more Percy, though, and I bet he won't be the main character of the new Half-Blood series. I mean, it makes sense that he won't be, but I love the way he narrates.

Oooooooh~ now a crossdressing woman, I can get behind that. I'll have to go back and reread and get ito it.

I don't like mecha anime either... I never even watched Gundam Wing. I don't actually watch a lot of anime; most recent was Nyan Koi. Which has definite yuri subtext in it btw, see this icon. |D I read more manga than I watch anime.

I could see him at least making some big cameos in the series, if Riordan decides to focus on a new group of campers. It'd be a pity to just throw away such awesome characters.

(http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/94357518/23440839) The scanlated manga only goes up to a little after you first meet her, but it's licensed by Tokyopop here, so they should be getting into the stuff the scanlators haven't gotten to within the next volume or two.

Yeah, I usually do that first, unless I can't find the manga of whatever I want to check out, or if it's too long or something like that.

It would be kind of neat to get a female main character this time, too; well, as long as Riordan can write a good female voice. I liked Annabeth but that doesn't mean I'd like her narration.

Ugh I know. D: Maybe once the dub/english manga gets past their rematch or Maka snaps Chrona out of it in the current manga, it'll breathe a little life into the fans again. Oh god you HAVE to watch the anime. They seriously heap on the subtext between those two.

I do! I like the Inkworld and Moving Castle series(except I really need to reread the second and third books in the first one, orz), and Harry Potter, of course.

Yeah, it does, but I like it a lot, for an anime-original ending. Studio Bones really knows how to pull those off well.

My sister was really big into Inkworld! I took her to see the movie but I've never read the books. Howl is awesome, though again I'm not incredibly familiar. I'm more big on DWJ's other series, the Chrestomanci Chronicles. And HP well of course. XD

I think I've seen like. four episodes. Maybe I'll pick up the rest.
