I love it so much I cry every time.

I've been working on a tentative thesis paper to be published RE: Proving the House was actually real. There's so many highlighter a pen marks on my copy it looks like a unicorn barfed all over the pages.

Oh my god, I have to read your thesis when you're done. Hoooly cow.

The crux of it is based on the idea that the House is both real and a construct of the mind. Depending on who you are, it manifests differently. I think there's enough evidence (via her letters to Johnny) to suggest that Pelafina wasn't able to manifest it physically, but she did come in contact with it (through Zampano?) It's why Zampano makes such a big deal about Navidson. "Only Navidson had the ability to go into that place and bring something back."

For Johnny, obviously, it never manifests, which is why he can't prove anything Zampano cited was real. (Assumption: if the house doesn't exist to you physically, nothing related to it does. Thus Johnny is never able to find a copy of The Navidson Record.)

I'm really liking where you're going with this, oh dear god. I'm so so so excited.

I've been meaning to transcribe the notes to my LJ for a while, maybe I'll get around to it this week! I'd love critique/input.

Camden?

Nope, South Jersey and the Newark for college.

Almost worse.

But only almost.

I used to live outside Philly and spent a lot of time in Jersey. (Getting lost in Camden at midnight was one of the...er...highlights? of my life.)

I have to go through Camden to get home via public transit. Even if I'm only there five minutes, it's still five minutes I'm a very quiet, controlled panic.

Unrelated but not really: I like Philly more than NYC. You get a lot of shit for that if you go to school in Newark.

I feel for you. I've been in a lot of sketchy places, but none of them have ever scared me like Camden did. D:

Oh man, Philly is a great city (except during football season, yikes). I loved the stuff in the city, and I loved that right outside, you could find all kinds of cute coffeeshops and beautiful scenery (Bryn Mawr was my locale. :D).

Bwah ha. My old college roommate used to have that Jersey shirt.
