Lol plz don't laugh (or do, I know I will), but my first fanfic ever (and first foray into fandom, and slash, all without actually having discovered the awesomeness that is fandom, was to write a creepy and epically long Frod/Sam post-RotK fic, in German, when I was like, 13. So I am SO behind your idea, especially the 'should feel authentic' bit. (I'm much too scared that I'd need a beta for it though. XD)

My friend and I were devastated when the Church of Bowie shut down. We had it set as our fake religion on Facebook and everything. : D

Nah! No laughing! : D My first fanfiction was a parody of the Fellowship of the Ring game, since it was spectacularly awful. But that sounds like an amazing first fic! &heart;

Oh, and the 'authentic' bit is like... fun paper, and sealing letters with a wax seal, and all that. : ) And if you'd like to write, don't worry about a beta. I sure don't use one. -laughs-

:D I'm kinda swept away by the nostalgia for the LotR-days. Secret Diaries and the movies and LOTRIPS and god, it was so fantastic.
I'd do the authentic bit, but I've never RP'ed, so it's... scary. I'm ttly up for it though.

I got swept up in the same nostalgia the other day; I've had the soundtrack playing in the background of my dorm room for quite a while now.
