Hmm, sound's interesting! I'll google those books right away :D

I find it entertaining that you asked me this question as I am watching a show on the Medici family xD

My main area is the Classics- so Ancient Greece. I am also really into the Renaissance but that is just a side passion of mine. I'm working on my history degree right now and I hope to go all the way up to my PhD in Classics :) I also deal heavily with sexuality, specifically homosexuality and its influence on different cultures :D I've taught panels at Yaoi conventions and I often write papers up, just for kicks. You should see my library xD

I think Coldfire and Classics nerds must go together, because my friend in Tallahassee is studying Classics as well!

XD I love hearing about what kinds of things history nerds are interested in. There's such a wide range of stuff, areas and eras and topics. Personally I love military history, Imperial Rome, anything Russian, and the 14th Century Black Death. So my library is a fairly weird and diverse bunch of books too.

Ah, I'm more into the romantic and artists aspect I guess- although nothing like a good war to get you excited! I must admit I tend to shy away from history that is incredibly political, so military history isn't really my thing. Not that I don't find it interesting, but I don't curl up with a good book on Russian politics!

The 14th Century Black Death is always interesting though- something about so many people dying really seems to capture a lot of peoples imaginations for some strange reason! xD I actually have to read a book on death and the plague for my Reformation course :D

Despite my International Affairs degree I'm actually not that interested in political stuff either, except when it's in the context of military stuff like invasions and wars and all that good stuff. I'm an Air Force brat so I'm blaming that for my military fascination.

XD That's really true. I've been interested in it since I was in like 3rd grade and read something about it in a book I had. It's really interesting when you think about what an effect it had on just about everything back then.
