It's more important to be YOU, OP, not be what society deems as "normal". By accepting the bits of me that are society-normal and the bits of me that are society-weird, I've found real happiness. I hope you do too!

This. I used to make value judgments for my own normalcy based on what points characters on TV or in books had done things (I was very upset when I passed the age where Rory Gilmore, who I overidentified with, got her first kiss, without having gotten mine). I still do, sometimes (knowing Brennan was 23 when she lost her virginity makes me feel a little better about my own). But I really did think I would have caught up by now.

God I love Hanners. I like her and Faye WAY more than I like any of the 'normal' characters. That probably says a few things about me. I don't mind. I like who I am. Mostly.
