I like the main three, but I would love more of everyone else too!

When I still read and paid attention to Naruto, those were my feelings too.

I've basically been wishing for more than seven years that Gaara was the main character of the series XD

I don't really care too much about the shipping (a lot of the graphic stuff weirds me out considering the characters are underage for the most part), but I wish the other characters had more limelight. I find all of the other characters ten times more interesting than the main three, although their interaction with the other teams was funny at times.

Actually, I think the manga would be the best if it just took place in Suna (shikamaru can be on the show as temari's love interest but thats it) with Gaara, Temari and Kankuro as the main characters.

This is my feelings exactly. I want a Team Gai spin-off like burning.

This, so hard. So very hard. I've just about given up on the main 3 (barely hanging onto liking Sakura). I'd love more Team Gai, Sand siblings and Teams 9 and 10. And Kakashi. Mmm.

Quite frankly, I miss what the series was. What it is now is not the Naruto I love. It just feels so formula one to me now. Not to mention, the fandom has really turned me off with all the shipping wars and other drama.

Perhaps the same could be said of all shounen series.

There are series that give a lot of attention to the supposedly secondary characters - Fullmetal Alchemist comes to mind.

And One Piece.

Yeah, too many characters and inevitably not enough screen time for the minor ones, some of which are a lot more interesting.

I would definitely love to see more Gaara, Rock Lee, Neji and Hinata. (Well Gaara already does have a pretty big role so far.)

Shika is cool but I think he'd be a bad main character, as he's so cynical and lazy. It's hard to get into a character without much motivation.

Basically I came down here to bitch that Shino wasn't in the image. Goddamn it Hinata and Kiba are there, why not Shino? >/

But yeah, the series would be a lot more interesting if ANY of the other teams were the center focus. I don't know if it's because the main three's angst is shoved down our throats or what, but they just seem bland compared to everyone else.

Shino is always excluded. Remember that one ED with the school uniforms where the animators FORGOT to include him and then added him in later? It was hilarious.

Those were my exact thoughts bamf. I haven't watched Naruto for quite some time now, cuz I really only got into for Shino who we get to see for 5 seconds every 100 or so episodes :(

See, I like the leads. Or I like Naruto and Sakura anyway. They grew on me. Like mold. And at least my favorite (Shikamaru) got some screen time.

But what this series obviously needs more of is Rock Lee. Maybe some Neji, too. Eh, just throw them all in there.

This is pretty much the entire reason I fell out of favor with Naruto (despite checking in on it from time to time). The show has a huge cast of varied, interesting, and LIKABLE characters, but it only focuses on about three. The rest get one or two moments to shine and then they become background. It's so annoying to see such lovable characters get tossed aside like that, ESPECIALLY when you realize how HARD it is to make a genuinely interesting, likable character.

If it makes you feel any better OP, when I was in the fandom, my OTP was Chouji/Hinata, because I am weird.
