I was watching the Lost recap and I just started crying because I felt so bad for Locke. I haven't followed the show too closely, but I've always felt so much pity for him and the way people he trusts take advantage of him and hurt him. >:

Amen. When I was depressed, I kinda wished something like being stranded on an island would happen to me (though since I live Ireland, technically that's already true) and I'd tell myself that if it did, I'd want to be like Sawyer. Or at least Hurley. But I know I'd end up like Locke =/

Locke is definitely pitiable, but he does come off as unlikable in some instances. Then again, you could probably say this about almost all of the characters in LOST. They all have flaws.

Maaaan, why can't the last season come alreadyyyy...

Dude, calm down. It was an inquiry, a request for more information. The person who asked it obviously knew something was off in the situation, and they presented what they knew about it in a polite question. They didn't assume anything.

I don't like Locke. I have a myriad of reasons for that, the largest being that for a long stretch he came across incredibly hypocritical. All the being said, I cannot imagine Lost without him and I know his contribution to the show is absolutely invaluable...and I also think Terry O'Quinn is great in the role. Lost doesn't really work without John Locke, but it doesn't mean I have to like him ;) Honestly I think it speaks to one of the strengths of a show that it can have a character that I really don't like but at the same time cannot imagine the show without.

I think that's the brilliance of his performance--I HATE Locke with a fiery, white-hot passion, but I love TO'Q to death and I think he does a brilliant job making him both infuriating and sympathetic. I LOVED the scene with Jack this past week. (And hell, now he's playing two people! I love that!)

I truly can't stand Locke. Everything he says and everything he does is annoying. I can't even feel sorry for him. It's gotten to the point that I love it when bad things happen to him. The scene where Ben strangles him? I just laugh and laugh and laugh.

He's been my most hated since punching Charlie. Loved it when Charlie caught him crying in the woods and was all LOL

I love Locke because he's an extremely fascinating character. You're not sure if you're meant to be with or against him, and I think that duality really brings a lot of life to the character. In the end he's kind of a pussy a lot of the times but I think it's what makes him human, he isn't always this mystical shaman with knives, he does make mistakes and he does slip up and have his moments of weaknesses. One of those got him killed by Ben, but there you go.

I wish he was the main character instead of Jack. I can't stand Jack.
