I'm not sure where my thoughts on maturity lie between the two. I never really thought about it. But I do think MMPR is still a lot more campy than Zyuranger.

People often seem to say Zyuranger is "more mature" is because there's "zomgBLOOD!!1" and "[spoiler-for-you] DIES!!!11" when you'd never see that sort of thing in MMPR.

Oh yes, and then there's the whole "Japanese = automatically BETTER" sentiment that seems to permeate the PR/sentai community, even though sentai is supposed to be aimed at little kids and can be just as WTF-inducing as (if not more than) its American counterparts. FWIW, I've only seen a couple episodes here and there of Zyuranger, so I really can't make an opinion one way or another. My thoughts/observations are mainly based off of other more recent series I've seen.

I think that Zyuranger definitely has a higher actual-plot to things-that-just-happen ratio than MMPR, but it also makes a lot less sense when the things-that-just-happen happen. That first episode honestly doesn't make any sense, except when it's giving exposition.

Er, and my point with that is that I think some people may mistake plot (especially since things do actually carry over from one episode to the next in Zyuranger) for maturity.

Aaaaah, sentai and PR shows are all completely crack-filled and kiddy-grade. I love 'em both. :D
