Oh, I could not stop crying after that scene.

George Kirk is everything I want in a man, and is my hero. His last action on earth was the most selfless thing I've ever seen.

Oh, I tear up thinking about that scene.

I teared during that scene the first time I saw the movie, I won't lie. That was some sad stuff.

That scene made me weep both times, in really public places. D:

Agreed. He was about the only part of that movie I enjoyed.

I cried. Manly death was manly.

When I first read this secret, I thought, yeah I cried too. And then I thought, nice lensflare.

Hell yes. He has normal sized forehead, after all...

Fuuuuu, I cried. Both times I saw the movie in the theatre. I was really pissed the first time because "WTF WHY AM I CRYING ALREADY?" but yes, it was heartbreaking. And it's Chris Hemsworth--you're allowed to think he's hotter than Chris Pine. xD

Oh God yes, this! It is my favorite (and the saddest) scene in the film. Well, next to, "You got it." ;D

I had to admit I was impressed at the way they introduced a character and killed him off 15 minutes later and managed to totally break my heart doing so, even though I was basically a Trek n00b. Well played, movie.

I cry every time I see the movie. George Kirk was a fantastic man, and so selfless.

I cried every time I see the film. I cried ten times in theaters, I cry when I watch it at home. Just...crying all over the place.

I know! That was so sad! It was just heartbreaking listening to him try to reassure his wife that everything would be okay, save a ship's worth of people and desperately cling to the only piece of fatherhood he knew he'd ever get to experience.

I cry every. goddamn. time. Love it.

I had no idea when I walked into that movie that I was going to cry before the fucking opening credits. GOD, he's so damn awesome, it's ridiculous.

And I still cry every single time.

OMG, that scene.

Seriously, I have the DVD and I'm scared to rewatch the movie because that scene almost crushed me. So powerful.

I love both Kirks, but that scene made me totally jear in the theater. And I teared up again watching at home. :(

Oh yes, I definitely felt for both the mother and father. It's such a powerful way to start the movie. Wasn't expecting it.
(And Pine's resemblance to him is pretty good casting too.)
