Oh a lot of people in fandom like him. Love him. Definitely. And a lot of people hate the way he was handled in BftC especially.

NGL, for about two seconds I thought that was a frame from Watchmen, even though I've read Watchmen a million times. Wtf.

Not your fault. Grant Morrison decided to randomly give the character back the hair-dye he had from a previous incarnation, so a character who's been naturally brunette since 1988 or so suddenly looked like Rorchach.

Same here, but I think I was just hoping for a Watchmen secret.

I agree. He had so much potential and this happens to him.

I've always said about Death in the Family that Jason Todd was not killed by the Joker; he was killed by thousands of fanboys who wanted The Dark Knight Returns to be "true".

I was kinda surprised to feel sorry for him too. The bit where a guy's got a gun to his head and he's screaming something like "Do it! I'll just come back again!", I remember thinking "God, he must feel so helpless in all this."

You are not alone OP, I know there are many out there (including myself!) who want nothing more then for all the bat-family to get along and work together. Especially Jason, there's so much untapped potential.

I don't hate him, and while I don't love him either, I'm completely sure it's because the vast majority of writers obviously don't know what the hell to do with him and it's sad.

I love Jason. I think a lot of fans do. Some writers have done him disservice, but I think he's a genuinely interesting and worthwhile character.

DC can't hate him that much because they're making a movie version of Under the Hood.

Stopped reading DC sometime around 52, but I love Jason. I think his character has a lot of potential that gets squandered by bad writers and bad storylines.

I don't remember there being a bunch of fandom hate for him when I was in the fandom before though.

Seriously. Off-LJ everybody I've met hates him, but here he seems to be a lot of people's favourite character.

I'm indifferent about him. It makes sense that writers place him as the antagonist in many stories. His Batman and Robin arc was really cool.

...But I think he needs help before he can become a hero.

I feel your pain. But hey, maybe the upcoming Under the Hood movie will have a positive effect?

He has his fans. We just want him written right.

Seriously, Jason Todd is one of my favorite DC characters. Everything he's gone through, he pains me to see them treat him like he is. But I've also noticed something, during this whole Blackest Night thing? Why didn't the black rings ever go after him?

clearly late to the party, but as someone whose entire head was just swallowed by DCU, I wanted to tell the OP that she is so not alone. Jason might be a fucking psychopath, but I adore him a whole lot and want to make everything better for him. (and I kind of blame Bruce for how he turned out, tbh)

Actually, I think the only Robin I don't adore is Damian. Ugh.
