She gained her fame during the time where the modeling world went for the "unique" look versus the classic beauty. Look it up. It started during the early to mid-90's. (It was a very Ziggy Stardust alienish time.) She has been able to carry on as the fashion attitudes have changed because she has a walk that owns the catwalk.

there's all sort of modeling, and most of what she does, it needs no beauty.
And if it does, photoshop is your best friend. Besides at this time it's the name that acounts.

Well, that, and she can hoover up more snow than five novice models half her size. It takes a lot of hard work to become that expert in drug abuse.

I don't know who that is, but something tells me that particular picture is purposely unflattering.

Take a look at a random fashion show. Most models aren't exactly classical beauties.

And as someone said above, she never became famous because she was supposedly pretty. Look up the concept of heroin chic. Basically, she was considered a good model because she looked fragile and dramatic, and that contrasted with the traditional standard of beauty (that is, looking healthy and, well, you know, beautiful.)

A LOT of people don't find most models attractive. It's more about having a striking facial structure and features (plus the height and, usually, a slim body, of course) than being pretty.

I agree, I've never liked her look.

Runway models generally aren't "conventionally pretty." Different types of modelling have different standards.

Finally someone who agrees with me! Kate Moss is fugly and disgusting. She's not even that tall, I don't get her success.

not that i'm a big kate moss advocate (i know nothing about her), but something tells me the OP is the type to whine about any actor or model who isn't sufficiently "hot"
