Lol, no you don't. Otherwise you would be honest, and not a coward. Otherwise you would be patient, and still be kind to the person. Otherwise you wouldn't be a fucker starting internet drama, instead of actually trying to talk it out with your friend.

You're no better. You're actually WORSE. Your friend is better off.

You can like someone all you want, but there's only so much bullshit a person can take. As someone who's had a lot of friends use me as a therapist figure, I totally relate to the OP and disagree with your comment. I have had to distance myself from some of those people - while I don't mind helping a friend out or giving advice, it gets hard to deal with when the person is so absorbed with their own personal issues that that's literally ALL they ever talk about. It's honestly not much of a "friendship" when it's constantly just one person needing support from the other and never giving anything back. That's selfish behavior - friends have their own shit to deal with. Like, if you need to talk that much about your problems, get a therapist. That's their job. So yeah, I totally get where the OP's coming from. And that doesn't mean you stop liking the person - I still love those friends as people, personally, I just don't make an effort to be around people like that if they don't get the actual help they need and stop constantly dumping all their shit on me.

I think you're doing the right thing, for whatever it's worth.
