Myself, I'm more annoyed at everyone bitching about how "girly" the red is and complaining about the cast, without knowing any of them. I'm excited for what it is: another 30 minute toy commercial thats going to (possibly) leech my spare cash.

Oh man, that bugs me so much too. Somehow everyone loved the girls and Blue/Black but I think I saw nothing but negative comments about Red before any promo pics even came out. People need to wait to judge until they at least see the cast in action, damn...
I thought he was cute in the first episode, though I figure it doesn't help the general opinion of him from the toku fans that watch it more for the fights/mecha/etc. I do like the "pretty boys", even though I'd watch it either way. I can still appreciate a good-looking cast, right? XD

I haven't had time to see the first episode yet (sitting raw on my desktop), but I'm already loving the Boukenger color scheme and the Gao-y helmets.

I enjoy the pretty boys too , but if thats all there is, it won't keep my attention.

The helmets are very cool. The opening sequence has a nice scene using the animals on the side of the helmets - I love the design. I'm not a big fan of the outfits though. Boukenger pulled off the white a lot better imo.
I thought it was an ok starting episode. They kinda used the generic inspiring-little-kid plot already, but apparently he's going to be a main character according to the website, so I guess they had to do that early. I'm really interested in seeing how this goes from here, I think it definitely has potential.

Tensou Sentai Goseiger, the newest super sentai series that just premiered in Japan last Sunday. The sentai franchise is what Power Rangers is based off of.

Yeah, that's a good call. I love the jackets, I missed them so much in Shinkenger last year! A lot of people seem to hate them, but I think they're awesome.

They kind of had the weird color-based-clothing-but-not-realllllly-uniforms thing going on. I didn't really like any of their "official jackets", and the girls didn't have any at all.

*is only watching for Mao and ridiculously tall Kento and isn't afraid to admit it :Db* I don't understand why everyone was hating on Red though, I mean he's cute and that show is like the opposite of serious business so I don't even know why it's such a big deal :/

Well no, it's not that I have a problem with watching for an actor. That's how I started watching tokusatsu. But when you start calling it the best show ever and freaking out about it constantly, it gets a little annoying. Once the show has gotten pretty far and you have a good sense of the plot and how well it's written and everything, then you can go ahead and say it's a really good show. But after episode one, I think it's a little silly to be like "this show is the best ever, I already pre-ordered all the toys for my favorite character and got all the stuff through my connections to Japan events", etc. Sure, good actors are important, but it feels fake to me if you call yourself a huge fan of the SHOW when you wouldn't care if it didn't have that one favorite actor. I know someone who gives off that feel, and while I agree about that particular actor being cool, I can't help but feel like something's off a little. =/
As for why it's a big deal, it's because there are lots of adult geeks watching it for the fighting/mecha/etc, and they don't want to see cute boys, right? Because cute boys apparently can't fight as well because they're "wimps". (no offense to the fans of the show who like those aspects. I feel like it's two separate fandoms sometimes though, and I prefer to stick with the side that focuses more on the characters and their interactions rather than the action stuff.)

I know, it says that bit in the secret :DDD I just thought I'd let you know what my position was if you didn't already know~ I sure hope nobody would be calling it the best show ever after the first episode, it wasn't that cool .____. Not that I know what to expect from that kind of thing or anything but yeah. The katamari guy was kind of cool. The bazooka was a little cool. That big red dragon guy was kind of stupid-looking, I mean how is he supposed to be a productive member of society with stupid claw hands like that? No wonder he wants to take over the world. Ah, but you don't care about my evaluation of the episode. I'm not sure if it's weird to already be buying character merch if you like that actor so much that you know you're going to like them no matter what they do >______> but if you're not really watching it for any other reason... Hmmm. Then it is silly to be like OMG BEST EVER when it... wasn't? XD It all depends...!
I feel like you're sort of a special case because you appreciate both the COOL fighting and that sort of business along with teh pretteh. I DUNNO WHY ANYONE WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE CUTE BOYS. But then I also tend to assume that if you're THAT into battles and are seriously concerned about the result of those things that early on in the series that you need to grow up a bit and stop taking things so seriously |D;;; I don't mean to, it just happens >_____> Ah, maybe certain people influenced me on this but I feel like there's two separate sides of the fandom too and they don't really get along... but then all of my knowledge on the subject comes from like one person so who knows? Haha. I don't even know what I'm talking about right now because I'm all drugged up on cold medicine again so I hope this makes sense to you |D

All the new fans post Den O have turned me away from Tokusatsu so had its not even funny. Now that tokusatsu is considered "dramas" it just irks me to no end.

It's tokusatsu or heroes, not dramas. All these new fangirls are just the cancer killing my fandom.
