I think they are both amazing. Even if X doesn't think that HL is a good actor, why s/he gotta hate? It's not like there is a competition between the two of them, they appear to be really awesome friends.

I love them both. If someone asked me to choose, between them, I'd tell them to fuck off.

Well I have a massive crush on Hugh Laurie but I love Stephen Fry just as much just because he's such an awesome person...and he's just so adorable <3

You're gonna hate me, I'm going to a taping of my favorite late night guy and Stephen Fry is the guest that night :D

No I ain't gunna hate, cause I'm going, too! I am road tripping down from Oregon with three friends.

I've been looking for insider's tips on gong to a taping, like when is really a good time to show, what to wear, etc, but have not found much yet.

I don't have cable, so I've never seen the show. I hear he is awesome though, and he is amusing on Twitter.

I've been to tapings for the LLS four times, ask me your questions I'll tell you no lies.

Craig is awesome, been a crazy fan of his for years and years.

May as well answer the ones you already mentioned.
1. Good time to show. They say get there no later then 3:30, I always get there at least two hours early. On a night with a huge guest, like Stephen, I recommend even earlier. I'll be loitering from 12:30-1pm
2. They say to dress "upscale" but you don't have to. Don't dress like a hobo or anything but you don't have to go in a ball gown. A nice pair of pants and a nice top are okay..heck, you can even go in a jeans and a plain ol' t-shirt! Don't wear an all white shirt though, it looks weird on the camera. I'm wearing nice pants, a denim jacket, and my Craig shirt (maybe).

Cool. I was considering wearing my Cheshire Cat hoodie, but was worried that it might be too 'eccentric' or something.

I heard that they confiscate all cells and cameras and the like. Is it a fairly smooth process? I don't mind them taking them and then waiting to get them back, but I would hate waiting in line for hours without them.

Oh, and parking! We are actually staying in Bakersfield and driving in. In there a parking lot for the studio?

I think I will aim to have my rabble there by 12:00. We are coming a ways, it would be better to make sure we get in and get good seats.

They say to leave all that stuff in the car. That's what I do, I leave everything in the car. It's pretty smooth, you go through a metal detector. I haven't seen anybody even try to bring in phones and cameras..or bags for that matter, since the ticket says to leave them in the car.
I think you can only park on the lot if you have a handicap placard. You can park next door at Farmer's Market\The Grove. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the studio.

I'll most likely be wearing a Robot Skeleton Army shirt to grab Craig's attention, hehe.

So, I'd really be the lone jerk with a bag? Sadness.

Realistic or not, I just had this hope that Stephen might walk by the line or something and, if that happened, I'd want pics. Well, I could have stuff until maybe 3:00 and then one of us could run back and drop things in the car. If we are hanging out for a while, we are likely also going to want snacks and things. we have some food allergies in our group, so we can't just grab whatever is around.

I hate both of you.

Well not really, but I am so jealous. I never get to go anywhere since none of my friends are cool enough to like any celebrities or tv shows filmed in front of studio audiences (and I live in Oklahoma, but I guess it's not that hard to road trip like you.)

That's too bad. I am going with two other fans and one girl who isn't, but she is looking forward to going on a road trip.

The trip down will be easy, we'll already be south from working an event and will have lots of stops. The 14 hour drive back? We will either bond or hate each other forever ;)

No problem. When his new book comes out he might do a book signing tour, which could mean possible fun trips :) I at least hope he does a tour. That would be awesome.
