I believe the OP is speaking of Birth By Sleep's ending (not 358/2 Days) in which:

*SPOILERS*

Aqua is told by Ansem that Sora is the person destined to help her as well as many others in the future. It shows brief cameos of those Sora impacts in other games (Namine', Xion, Roxas, Axel, etc.), and they all murmur "Sora" after Ansem begins to answer Aqua's question "What's the boy's name?" Ansem: "His name is..." Aqua cries happily knowing this.

Well, Birth By Sleep is a prequel, so I'm sure it takes place before any character death in later games (unless the timeline jumped around, which I don't believe it did until the very end).

If you mean Birth By Sleep (image is slightly confusing), I agree it was a cute ending. I just hope Sora grows up more in future installments and stops goofing around so much and takes things a little more seriously before the good guys end up in trouble. It was charming in the first game but it got kind of annoying in KHII.

Ugh. I was so excited to see some love for 358/2 Days, too. :\ Instead I get BBS spoilers I can't read.
