I used to love the UST, but I actually think it was their fear that once the relationship was consummated the show was over that is killing the relationship for me. At this point (as I am with many shows), I'm like, "just do it already and stop this drawing it out nonsense!!!!" It's absolutely ridiculous how TPTB of various shows throw everything but the kitchen sink at couples to keep them apart. It's completely off the wall and makes the relationship a bigger focus than it should be. Actually, Mo Ryan sums up my feelings well.

And before anyone tosses the Moonlighting myth at me, it wasn't getting the couple together that killed that show.

I watched Moonlighting first-run, in high school. It wasn't getting Dave and Maddie together that killed the show - it was taking the UST beyond banter between equals and creating the situations/possibilities that led to the viewer KNOWING they would sleep together, and it just being a matter of time as to when.
