Well, I dislike making snap judgments on about two minutes of trailer, but remember that Katara is going to end up with Aang at the end. Not Zuko, so it may have been intentional to cast a younger-looking actress.

(Kataang is my canon. Zutara is my fanon, btw.)

I see what you mean about that and I'd make a comment about how original Aang had a thing for older women, but, well, movie!Aang still looks a lot younger then movie!Katara. A younger seeming actress would have been necessary.

Yeah I thought so too but then again if I said so I would be a crauy Zutara fan who thinks everyone is out to destroy my otp even though it was almost canon if not for Bryke. Which I don't think. But I kind of had the same thought.

I'm still holding out hope that maybe M. Night's characteristic /big twist/ is to keep the whole thing ship-free. You're already cramming an entire season into two hours (or three seasons into six); the romance was so extemporaneous in canon anyway, in my humble opinion.

Maybe he's cutting out comedy.

Wow, she does look really young. :/

I have that same problem with Kataang. Look at him, hes just.... a kid. In fact, this movie might ruin shipping for a lot of people when they realize how old everybody really is.

Aang looks like he's ten in the show, but people still ship him.

"Guys"? Wait, there's people who actually give a shit about movie!Zutara? Like out of all the problems with the movie, that's the one some people are concerning themselves with? lolwhat?

Seriously. As if we needed another reason to hate this movie! Maybe if three movies do get made she will have caught up in a few years?

(Although if Katara and Aang's romance in the film is developed like their romance in the animated series I won't be shipping Kataang either...)

I'm still hoping Shyamalan is going to throw in one of his "twists" and have Katara end up with Zuko in the end. ~~which is about the only reason I could be bothered to see the film~~

Anywoozles, looking at the thread below it seems that the Avatar fandom is still as crazy as ever. You go bbs!

I love series Zutara, but for the movie I think they wanted Katara to look more like Aang's age. Eh, not going to see the new movie either way.

This has nothing to do with shipping, but Dev Patel just looks so ZUKO to me in that picture; not his appearance at all, but his expression. I think his performance might be the only thing that makes me want to see the film...but the race issue is still deterring me. Still, just look at the angry angst he's radiating in that picture, goddamn.

Yeah, Dev Patel as Zuko is like...the one thing about the movie that intrigues me. Everything else just sounds like pure suck. Suck incarnate.
