No, this acknowledges the difference between people and values their individuality. Treating everyone fairly does not mean treating everyone as if they were the same.

I urge you to re-read that post. It does not argue in favor of pushing people away because of differences. It argues for acknowledging the hurt that people experience because they are different. It's the first step for change.

You want everyone to love each and every person, that's admirable. But it's hard to establish those loving, respectful, and healthy relationships when current prejudices aren't acknowledged.

You can't heal a wound and move on if you don't acknowledge its existence.

I have read the post several times, but there's still something deep within it that... I can't put my finger on it, but it makes me deeply uncomfortable in that it still envisions different "groups" (the oppressed and the privileged) instead of a unified whole. Now, that's not to say that individuality means nothing... not at all! Individuality is very important. But just as family members can be different people but still part of the family, so we too are different cultures, backgrounds and experiences yet still all humans, all people, and all sharing a common bond. My issue with racists, and to a MUCH lesser extent the link above, is that it ignores that common bond of friendship and humanity for a more... antagonistic? vision where one party is still held apart from the others ("them darned dirty mud folk!" "a white person has privilege that POCs don't," etc). I'm still seeking more discussion on the idea of union, togetherness, and shared humanity, but I haven't found too much yet.

I do understand what you mean about healing a wound and having to address current prejudices. I do think that some of this stuff NEEDS to be addressed. At the same time, I believe with every cell of my being that that healing and confrontation can be done with love, acceptance, respect and friendship... yes, even before the healing begins. Like siblings who have fought for a long time and are now beginning to heal the rifts, saying, "You have hurt me a lot... but I still love you." Obviously I am somewhat in the minority in this approach :) but even after reading all the literature, all the discourse, it still resonates stronger than any other approach, so I guess that's the path I would hope we take. :)

Also, I'm not entirely certain I fully agree with your assertion about fair treatment != treating everyone the same... but only so much that I feel that, as fellow members of (a) society, we should be following the same rules and have the same freedoms* (i.e. saying stuff is "ok" for one group and not for another is very problematic and bordering on unfair). That might not be what you're referring to, of course. ^_^

* I do not mean that in the sense of having one society for the entire world, am referring more to within the hypothetical society.

I also hate that attitude for the reasons you've expressed, and also the patronizing, victimizing language people use. But, you know, fuck people for wanting others not to be raging, antagonistic dickheads toward each other. We must be privileged douchebags, even if we are part of a marginalized group.
