I don't feel there's a sufficient enough basis for their relationship, which Kirk/Spock most certainly have a well-establish basis.

You're mixing alternate verse with TOS, kiddo. And even in TOS that's thanks to slash-goggle technology, it's not canon.

I think your missing Anon's point. The comment previous said K/S had 'good basis' to be a ship while S/U did not, without 'slash goggles' on can you *really* say one pairing is one up over the other. No.

They don't have a significant relationship in either 'verse. I'm a TOS fan -- I think I would know.

And while my opinion may not be totally relevant to the secret maker's message, it was just that; my opinion. I don't like Spock and Uhura because I just can't see it working. They don't have enough interaction for me to even base it upon. It's my personal way of approaching fanfiction. For it not to be crack, it's got to have at least one foot firmly in canon/reality. If you don't agree, that's fine, but don't tell me I'm wrong.
