This is why I think it's hilarious when batshit crazy conservative parents freak out about their kid having access to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or whatever at the school library.

I'm probably a little older than OP 'cos I didn't have routine access to the internet until middle school, but pretty much the first thing I did on it was read explicit pornography. That's pretty typical, in my experience.

I was like 12, haha. There's a huge porn double-standard between the sexes; I think this should be considered normal if most boys start watching porn around this age, which in my research (talking with friends lol) they do..

i didn't start reading fanfiction (by which i mean, smut) until i was 14-ish, but i was exposed to hardcore pornography for the first time at around that age. i haven't really considered it, but i think it actually probably fucked me up more than i realize, and might account for some of the stuff (especially regarding my sexuality) that i'm dealing with now, at 21.

but, honestly, i feel it might have been healthier if i had started with fanfiction. if it was stuff i was going to know at that age, fanfiction might have been a healthier medium.
