Dude, a lot of my favorite names come from characters in fandoms I'm in. My top girl name is Colette (like the ToS character), for instance. And my boyfriend's favorite is Alice because of Alice in Wonderland. It's usually not *after* the character... more like inspired by. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, anon. And really, if you're really embarrassed by it you can just tell people you heard it somewhere and really liked it. Not technically a lie.
