Younger!Rory? Sure, she was cute, if extremely pretentious and irritating with it.

But not the spoilt brat she became at the end of the series. Nauseatingly perfect to the point of an entire town being obsessed with her above their OWN children, and whoever did wrong by her was OH so evil even if they were actually justified..

Ugh, why? I could maybe see if you only mean season 1 or early season 2 Rory, but beyond that, she's a spoiled, selfish, holier-than-thou brat who can't make up her mind to save her life and who doesn't think anything of dragging everyone and their mother's feelings through the mud time and time again. One of the worst "protagonists" I've ever seen on a tv show.

I'm so with you, OP! I want a daughter like Rory and I'm sure I'll be a mom like Lorelai. But I often wonder if I'll be lucky enough for it to happen twice, since me and my mom are just like them (we still joke about that, even though she hates them, because they talk too fast - IDK).
And fuck it that she changed after Yale. I did too (not after Yale, just growing up, LOL), so I understand.

Honestly, Rory always annoyed the crap out of me. Could they have written her as anymore of an unrealistic image of perfection? Plus the way she acted with Jess just highlighted how self involved she was.

I hope to crap you mean high school Rory and not college Rory. She went from being an AWESOME KID to being a pretentious, selfish, snooty brat who couldn't handle any criticism or hard work at all (let's drop out of college because the boyfriend's dad is mean! let's get all weepy and upset because the very first job we apply for doesn't magically land in our laps!). Personally, I'd rather have a daughter like Lorelai -- she may have made mistakes in her past but she grew up into pure awesomeness. I'd much rather have a kid turn out okay in the end than start out okay and then become a disappointing mess.

I wanted to be her... until she hooked up with Logan and listened to what his stupid father told her and temporarily quit Yale. Having a daughter like her would be a drag. She is too sensitive and not strong which is interesting cause she is the complete opposite of her mother. Though she has her flaws too of course.
