C'mon man, you're missing out on something you might really enjoy! BNF icons and a shared character name aren't good reasons to hate it so intensely. I mean, clearly you're aware of this, but yeah :')

Personally, if elsewhere I ran into a character named Falk, I wouldn't even make a connection to HinaBN.

Honestly this series annoyed me a lot at first, for no reason good reason other than that I saw it EVERYWHERE suddenly. Then I actually read some it, and it's pretty good. I thought I would absolutely despise Hanna, but he's endearing and probably my favorite character from what I read. So OP you should definitely give it a chance!

Except I'm probably going to wind up reading it anyway so I can get over it.

Also, now every time I see that acronym my brain pronounces it "Hinnabin" and then my brain goes "CINNABUN!" and those are delicious which is helping me get over it.

God I hate how my brain works.

I'm glad you're going to give it a try, though. I'm pretty sure no one would think the character name similarities are a reference. I'm a huge HiNaBN fan, and I wouldn't even make the connection. If I did, it would be more of a "Oh, haha, Falk. I've been hearing that name more and more since I started reading HiNaBN. It's a great name. People should use it more."

Whaaaaat. Sorry man, this subject is sensitive for me since I'm an aspiring comic artist myself, but yeah GET OVER IT. You are missing out and just plain being ridiculous because of irrational rage. Get a hold of yourself. And yes I did read your side note.

The unconventional typography is great and the art is really graphic and lovely, but the paneling is quite confusing at times. I don't think the story is all that strong or original either. It's like Avatar- a fun experience overall, IF you don't analyze it. But who knows, maybe it'll get better as time goes on.

It's pretty irrational to hate it without ever reading it just based on your chracter sharing the same name, and obviously you know that. For what its worth, I doubt people will ever think you're doing a reference to this comic. Well, maybe only the die hard fans will think that, lol. Put a fake FAQ question on your novel site specifically stating that it's not a name reference if it bothers you that much. :)

I actually really love this comic, but I got into it pretty much right before it EXPLODED EVERYWHERE. So I can totally identify with the ARGH why is this EVERYWHERE NOW raeg.

But I'm just angry because when I first found out about it I was like "Oh man this comic is great and the author totally connects with her fans and this is going to be an awesome, decent-yet-manageable-sized fandom and we will be a happy family and yaaay!"
And within a week it was HINABN EVERYWHERE AMAGAW EVERYONE LOOK READ IT F;LKGF;DLGK and I have that pretentious hipster hate-it-because-it's-popular reflex.

although, when I see it, I don't think of Hanna, I think of my high school chemistry teacher. I didn't even immediately realize the connection between that and Hinabn until I thought about it.

seriously, I can't even recall when he was actually called that. I mean, I don't read it religiously or anything, but I think you'll be A-OKAY.

Wow. That's...um...special.

Nah, I know the feeling. I've got a character named "Wendell" because his original name of "Wayne" was used by a similar-looking character in a very popular flash cartoon, and I was worried about the associations. But really, I could probably change it back, and hardly anyone would notice. It's not such a big D, and while Falk isn't that common a name, it's not so bizarre that people will automatically thing of HiNaBN. Especially since, y'know, that name doesn't get used all that often.

It's a great comic, oodles of fun, and seriously some of the best art/design/layout/lettering I've ever seen. The artist has such a great eye for the whole thing.
