SAME! Me and my friends do it all the time, we have been shipping these two guys for almost three years - we have no regrets!

but yeah, that is a bit weird...maybe you're just finding it hard to see yourself with them?

Just don't be obnoxious about it. An offline friend realised that I was into online fandom like she was (though for different shows) and decided it meant that she could share who she shipped me with. Loudly. Often. It ruined the budding romance between me and our mutual friend because it got very awkward having her loudly proclaim her support for the ship.

I do the same thing, and I'm not prone to shipping anyone with myself, either. Or, if I do, I probably ship them with someone else, too.

My friends and I goof around sometimes doing the same. But as someone mentioned, just don't get obnoxious about it. I have a friend (a guy, surprisingly) who made one too many jokes about who belonged with who and it got old really fast.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't consider liking characters and wishing you were with them "shipping someone with yourself." I just call it a crush. And not everyone likes characters that way, so.

Oh, I ship these two guys in my math class (one of whom I sorta like) SO HARD. They pass notes, walk each other to class, and touch excessively. They're kind of adorable. I acknowledge that it's sketchy, but...whatever.

(I also ship two seniors in my school, which is a bit creepier, since I don't know them that well, and take it a bit more seriously than I should. OH WELL. It's fun, at least? For the record, they are ridiculously homoerotic and tell each other they love each other all the time....)
