I'm not sure what parts of Hinduism are "Brahminical," exactly, but from what I know of the religion as a whole... Reincarnation is part of it, I'd imagine, but probably more so the creation-preservation-destruction cycle in general, particularly the positive and vital role destruction plays in it. The Doctor's odd ability to make things better through destruction is reminiscent of certain Hindu gods. Also maybe the reliance of male gods (the Doctor) on female consorts (Companions).

I... I just... what? Although I shouldn't be so freaked - i've been writing Vishnu/Shiva slash in my Hinduism lectures instead of taking notes D:

The Doctor is kind of a Shiva figure, is what. He heals things through rampant destruction.

Yeah, I can totally see the Doctor as being Shiva-like.

On the other hand, the sculpture the OP used looks like Vishnu in his Varaha avatar. That could just be a reference to Varaha saving the Earth from the cosmic ocean, though, rather than a full on Doctor=Vishnu comparison.

Haha. You're bound to get a lot of odd looks, but I've always thought of the Doctor as a Shiva-like figure, or maybe Vishnu in one of his more destructive aspects.
