ME TOO. Thank fuck someone else sees it-- or, well, doesn't see it. I think they're trying waaaay too hard to make it work when honestly it won't. Whenever the writers themselves have OTPs, it makes for a boring romance, because you know what direction they're going in and it's an almost inevitable outcome. It's like, here's person A and person B, let's stick them together for convenience's sake and the drama points. *yaaaawn*

Also, sometimes I get pissed off when people think that the "opposites attract" concept is a normal thing when in actuality, research shows that MOST of the time* (*meaning some anon's anecdote about how her bf and her and like day and night but omg so perfect for each other isn't invalid, just not the norm) people with similar attitudes, views, and values tend to be drawn to one another. Opposites attract is good for hate sex though. \o/

I don't see it, and in fact Beckett is my least favorite part of the series. I like het pairings in other similar shows, but I just don't like the character let alone the ship. I just haven't found any way to relate to her really.

SAME. I thought I was weird because I really don't like her. At all. I like plenty of female characters in general, but something about her just... bores me and irritates me at the same time, and I can't pinpoint it.

Also, when I hear "Beckett" I think of the guy from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yeah, I want a character I like before I'd ship a couple together. At times it feels like the writers are trying too hard to make me believe that she's a tough yet smart while also being sexy alpha-female cop. And at other times, I'm bored with her too. IDK. I like Olivia from Fringe and really the two are more alike than different, but I just don't like Beckett.

I still think of Sam "Beckett" from Quantum Leap.

I can't tell if I dislike Beckett because her character is being compromised by an awkward romance or if it's something else. I prefer to think the former. Haven't seen Chuck, but I'll take your word for it! Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don't.

I have several shippers on my flist and they sold this concept of this fantastically shippy show with loads of UST and banter. So I tuned in only to greatly disappointed, they have zero chemistry, plus I find the two leads impossibly annoying.

And Nathan Fillion's attractiveness is overrated, I don't find him hot at all, his face is weird, his chin is so big and pointy and his face is too large. And his mouth is too small for his face, it's tiny.

I think Nathan Fillion's weird face is what I find attractive. : ) I can definitely see how he's off putting though. I don't see the UST, but they do have some fun bantery moments.

I agree so hard. They make an epic friendship but the romance chemistry just isn't there. I just hope the writers don't force it.

Well, the whole draw of the show is that they're NOT gonna end up together...so I don't really think you're missing some big secret. The fun part is that "ooh...oooh...ooh..is this it? NO no it's not!" and some people respond to that with "damn :( they're so cute together," while others go "sweet another episode ahead," and there's a few who are like "well that was a good mystery but jesus christ these two have no chemistry just shut up already." There's others, of course, every fandom has ~different opinions~

That being said, I love both of them and I do totally ship it the way it is now - since there's no way it would last if they ended up in a romantic relationship. ;)

It's not really why I watch the show though. I watch it because it's fun and silly and lets me not think for an hour on Mondays. :)

To be honest anon, I didn't ship it until last night's episode. I don't know what it was about last night, but it made me go "I'd ship it if this keeps up." That being said, I'd prefer for them not to get together in the show either way...tension is better imho.
