I don't think it's so much of an ego. Maybe a bit self-serving with the stereotypes, but it's true that most models have a very short shelf life (if they even make it on the shelf).

Ego, what? Because I'm honest with how I look? Because I've seen the modeling industry? (My mother worked as a fashion model for years. Not only have I seen the vapid and short lived 'talent' it was her and her friends who first informed me I was fugly.)

They may be stereotypes, but stereotypes are based on some level of truth or they wouldn't BE stereotypes to begin with.

Wow, anon. Way to bite the head off of someone who was actually sticking up for you.

And did you ever consider that maybe stereotypes come FIRST, and people imitate what they see in the media and hear from others as those stereotypes are perpetuated and eventually become some sort of kind of "reality"? There's a correlation between stereotypes and reality, perhaps, but you can't conclude which way the causation goes. I'm coming at this from a scientific standpoint, so take a chill pill.
