This is LOVE <3<3

I don't know why, but I just can't do it. I wish I could, it would make my chemistry classes back in high school so much COOLER...

PERIODIC TABLE SLASH FTMFW. Mercury would be a total BAMF and I would totally fangirl it.

Whenever I'm in class and someone says the word "supernatant", I start thinking about Supernatural... Every. Single. Time. *facepalm*

This secret rocks. :)

This secret is kind of awesome

117 is LOVE

My chem teacher would be so proud of you.

*high-fives the OP*

OP: If you were a river, I would bathe in you.

Re: 117

[identity profile] xmarie08.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
this is brilliant. Seriously though, if Hetalia can personify countries, why not elements?

Re: 117

(Anonymous) 2010-03-18 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously, are you me?????

I've been using the back of my orgo notebook for *weeks,* characterizing elements + molecules alike.

My (Orgo) version:
-Na: the unloved one
-H: the bicycle of the fandom, used for/with everything!
-BH3: The always unhappy, greedy (electron whore) one
-O: the powerful, ambititious dictator (Oxygen is selfish and wants a lot of electrons to itself)
-Ca: another unloved one; does nothing in orgo reactions (too bad it and sodium can't love each other)

[identity profile] soymade.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
The weirdest part is there was a secret about this exact thing a month or two back. I remember because we had a big discussion about many characters. I think we decided high-school would be a good setting for them.

Here it is

Re: 117

(Anonymous) 2010-03-18 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
my one organic chemistry professor always talked about atoms being naked and vulnerable. it was very strange, and I think it would be even stranger if I were personifying the elements!

Re: 117

[identity profile] unsquared.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Amazinggggg. I wish I'd treat school work the same way I treat fandom, hahahaha.

NaCl is my OTP

[identity profile] phillipznickel.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
And there wouldn't be any need for a weird portmanteau to name a pairing; you could just name the compound!

(I'm glad someone else thinks like me. :D)

sorry for spamming your inbox, kinkme!

Re: 117

[identity profile] wicked-seraph.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
ARE YOU ME? HOLY SHIT 8D

A friend and I were actually discussing chemistry OTPs and whatnot a few months ago. XDD

Re: 117

[identity profile] lumbergh.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously, this is the greatest secret I've seen in a while.

Re: 117

[identity profile] cowgirlmaxwell.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
that's actually hilarious, because I've been sketching/drafting personified elements for a few months now. They all have their electronic configuration on them somehow and parts of the personalities have to do with their electronegativity (all of the halogen elements are greedy in some way, for example).
If anyone wants to see them I can show you... noone understands my nerdiness at school ):

Re: 117

[identity profile] levy.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
as a biologist, I approve of all of this. I had a very angsty pseudocanon for S being bullied by O by the time I was taking chem classes, pal, don't feel so alone! XDD

Re: 117

[identity profile] bzbrit.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for making Chem Class fun, OP! :D

Re: 117

[identity profile] leaffit.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
I wish they'd taught chemistry like this. I might have actually passed the class.
