Doing negative things to someone for over some ridiculous reason they're "different" from you is disgusting. That doesn't mean someone being killed over their race is the same as someone being boycotted because of their political stance, but the discrimination is equally disgusting.

The OP isn't doing negative things to anyone. They are refusing business to a person whose ideology they disagree with. Everyone holds that right. I shop according to my ideology a lot of the time (not all the time). I don't get pizza from Dominos because they contribute heavily to anti-choice causes, and I don't want any of my money being used for that cause. It's a way of being political in your everyday life. Conservatives and liberals alike do it.

Finally, having an ideology is miles apart from being of a certain race and if you can't understand that then I don't really know what to say to you.

I think the problem is that the OP doesn't give any reason aside from "this person identifies as a conservative so I don't like them." The person in question may have perfectly reasonable views, possibly even some the OP agrees with. Disliking somebody merely because of a label is pretty stupid in any case.

The OP has a right to put their money towards whatever they want to, but the rest of us also have a right to think they're kinda stupid to flounce out about it. The act of making a secret about it just looks like they're trying to get more people to boycott it for the same reason.

Fair enough! I just wanted to defend the idea of shopping politically. The secret is pretty flouncy. But then again, a lot of secrets on here are so maybe I'm just getting immune.
