Do you have cable? It's on Syfy, so the episodes get repeated over the course of the week and on weekends, so you can catch up easily, I'd think.

It's pretty good. It's the story of the Adama and Graystone families and how the loss of their daughters lead to the creation of I'm boring you, sorry. *lol*

No, that's just Caprica. Planetside Caprica is, I think, a fanmade thing set in an alternate universe with no Cylon War.

Fanmade, yes, but it's more like The Plan (the most recent BSG movie): The series. So, instead of spending time with the Galactica after the Cylons nuke the colonies, we're spending time with the C-bucs on Caprica.
