...So someone is only worthwhile if they're a parent. All their other achievements and successes in life, regardless of how difficult they are to obtain or how groundbreaking they are, as was the case with Ms. Bigelow here, are meaningless without kids to show for it. Great to know. *headdesk*

And people wonder why my fiance and I don't want any kids of our own. We'd like to be seen for who we are and what we do ourselves, not what springs forth from my loins. There have been plenty of successful, well-known individuals in history who have contributed many great things to society without ever reproducing, so why should people today be any different?

And sadly, I have a feeling that this comment of mine alone will probably start wank.

And there have also been loads of talented people who's children have not been talented at all. Talent isn't really genetic, so chances are if Bigelow had kids anyways, the kids might hate movies!

IDK why your comment would start wank, it makes perfect sense to me, and you're not talking shit about anyone. :P

It's more that being childfree seems to be an unpopular thing on the internet as of late, and because our society has become so baby/kid-obsessed that I was concerned about the wank.

I think (and seriously hope) that anon meant that she's an awesome person and it would be nice if there were more like her, not that her awesomeness doesn't count because she doesn't have children.
