I saw it during its initial run and I loved it, and always wished there had been more. More of that, and more of My So-Called Life, as well.

You and me both anon. In fact I haven't seen the whole thing yet because I want to savour it. I learned my lesson with Firefly. Fall completely in love with a show and then *POOF* it's gone forever. =[

It's probably better you didn't catch it's original run, because it was shuffled all over the place. I loved it since the first episode aired, but it was so frustrating to tune in thinking there's another episode only to get disappointed.

The re-airing on ABC Family was slightly better. At least they showed all the episodes.

But give me the DVDs and their loads of commentary. The one with Rosso and Kowcheski in character doing commentary slays me.

I remember trying to watch this show when it was on... after a certain point, wasn't NBC inconsistent with it's time slot in favor of made-for-television movies and stuff? I remember them doing that a lot, especially with their hour-long shows.

But yea... I feel the same as the OP about Firefly. I did not give that show a chance while it was on air, and I still regret it. That's probably the main reason why I didn't stop watching Dollhouse. Whedon is the type of television writer whose projects need time to grow, but the people behind television programming are so impatient these days.

Yeah, I regret that about shows. I only ever watch what people recommend, so it takes me twice as long as other people to give stuff a shot. Then sometimes they're already over and I feel like a sucky fan.

I thought it ended quite well. And, tbh, I'd rather a show end too early than too late (when it starts to suck).

Hate to admit it, but I agree. It could have had one more good season, but it was much better for it to go out on a high note than to slide slowly into crapitude.

(And I associate that show very strongly with my own high school experience, and I'm always sad when people don't recognize quotes from it. Especially since out of context "you like to pat boys' butts" is a little strange.)

I saw Freaks and Geeks years ago on Netflix, I didn't know about it either until a friend told me about it.

So anyway, I saw your post and looked at the main character kid's face and said to myself, omg I know that face! Where have I seen that face? Then it hit me - he's Sweets on Bones!!! This is still messing with my head, LOL. I've seen tons of Sweets as a kid, and didn't even realize it.
