You know, I feel for you, I do, but at least both halves of your pairing are alive and still on the show. Some of us have had to keep a pairing going on much, much less. And have started to feel kind of ridiculous for it. Sometimes. So.

The point is. I sympathize. I do. Mostly because I miss Mohinder too and the way he's been used bothers me much more than a lot of other things on the show.

I ship Sylar pretty much up /down/left/right, but I don't actually ship these two .... although I do totally get why people do.

And yes, FUCK YOU TIM KRING RIGHT IN YOUR EAR FOR FUCKING UP SYLAR AND FORGETTING ABOUT MOHINDER COMPLETELY

Ugh, they really turned the show into a train-wreck.

I'm sure he's a modern guy.

I don't think Mohinder counts as "on the show" anymore...
Seriously, someone counted the character's screentime in Season 4, and Mohinder had ca. 21 minutes. (Claire had 200.) For comparison, Sendhil guest-starred on one episode of Psych, and his scenes added up to ca. 20 minutes.
And considering recent casting news and vague comments, even if there is a fifth season of Heroes, Sendhil probably won't be a part of it.

The way Mohinder has been written and then ignored in Season 3 has also been.... eh... I don't know who this character is supposed to be anymore. They deconstructed all his relationships, his motivations, everything. If he had just been written out or even died, at least we'd still have a grasp of who he is, but this...? They also specifically removed the entire basis for the pairing. They rewrote Sylar's origin story to remove Chandra. Whenever Sylar flashbacks to the significant killings? No Chandra.

Man, I used to love that pairing. I miss the early days of Heroes fandom, before all the bad!ficcers invaded the Sylar/Mohinder comm, and Tim Kring decided to ruin what used to be a truly excellent show. :(

Me tooooooo. :( Mylar was the whole reason I got into the show--those scenes in that ep, ackshully--and I had to drop the show because it was just killing my brain with fail and lack of shippiness. So, so sad.

I got into the show due to Parasite too! It really was quite a spectacularly slashy episode (in a crazy, sadistic way), wasn't it? :D

And yes, the lack of epic Sylar & Mohinder interaction was sort of the deathblow for my interest in the show, too. That and the general fail of the second season. :|

Word to this! Sylinder was awesome.

The Heroes writers have slowly but surely fucked over every single one of my ships.

In fact, they've fucked over the entire show. It takes a lot to drive me away from a fandom... But seriously, Heroes is doing a good job of it right now.

I just miss 2007/8 Heroes and Heroes fandom in general really. Bah.

Re: 120

[identity profile] rampant-chaos8.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I agree. Heroes and Heroes fandom at that time was a lot of fun. I've still been watching, but I lost my fannish enthusiasm some time after then.

Re: 120

[identity profile] soymade.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this. I really liked season one.

I've long since stopped watching though.

Re: 120

[identity profile] ravenspear.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
This. The fandom back then was lovely.

I wish there was a comm or something with the sole purpose of totally ignoring anything past season one, where people could merrily go on writing fic based on those happy early days of the fandom. :(

Re: 120

[identity profile] asimaiyat.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
For someone who has read some Mylar fics and enjoys that general kind of thing, is it worth it watching the first couple of seasons anyway?

Re: 120

[identity profile] ravenspear.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
The first season is pretty much A++, would def watch again, so it'd be totally worth it for you to watch that.

Second season... Not so much. I mean, YMMV, but that was were Kring's epic slaughter of all that was decent and good in the show began. :(

Re: 120

[identity profile] weaselistic.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the second season is ok. Flawed, but compared to Season 3 and Seaosn 4... it's actually Heroes. It just... ends just when it gets interesting, and instead of giving us the pay-off that they'd been working towards, Season 3 scrapped everything in favour of something entirely else.

Since we're talking Mylar, I think Season 2 is worth watching in that context. Powerless had great scenes between the two. <3

Re: 120

[identity profile] arcadiaego.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The first season, definitly. It's not deep, but it's fun. The second series is less consistent in quality.

Re: 120

otp for life. Seriously, I spend way too much time working them into each others' motivations where the writers have obviously forgotten to.

But fuck me, at this point, Mohinder doesn't actually know that Sylar is alive. Two seasons ago, he'd have been the first to be told. :/ Fuckery, this is
