I'm pretty much with you there. I'm good with most ships in any of the shows you listed, because they explore them all and they're all interesting, but I do find it difficult to get invested in caring about the relationships because of that. Gen2 of Skins had so much partner swapping, it's ridiculous, but it can't even compare to Gossip Girl. *shakes head* And Glee is just as bad, but with less sex. I love Skins and Glee, but I don't hardore ship much of anyone...

You know, I could never pinpoint exactly what it was about those shows, but this secret makes so much sense.

This is so true for Gossip Girl!

From the spoilers/previews of Glee, it seems that show will be going down the same road. Then again, I don't really watch Glee for those reasons anyways. It's more for the songs and performances.

Summer/Seth/Anna... ?

Haha yes THIS THOUGH maybe it doesn't make much of a difference cause it was such a long running show and Seth/Summer went on so much longer than Seth/Anna and Anna wasn't a main character but still if you see my comment below the two pairings were right after eachother and both were portrayed as like TRUE LOVE. Gah.

I guess none of the ones on The OC were between equal main characters of the show. The triangles were always between two main characters + some side character. And it wasn't like two best friends beforehand. Luke and Ryan became friends long after the triangle. Summer and Anna had just met during that thing too.

I agree with what you said. Gossip Girl has been a disaster :s the only pairing I can truly believe, at this point, is Chuck and Blair.

True, true, but Ryan and Theresa were like BFFs.

Like Gossip Girl where first Nate/Blair is all TRUELOVE and then Nate/Serena is TRUELOVE. And Dan/Serena is TRUELOVE but then Dan/Vanessa is TRUELOVE.

However, I think there's some pairings that stand up to this namely in Skins:
Sid/Cassie, Chris/Jal, Naomi/Emily and in Gossip Girl Chuck/Blair.

I can't speak for Glee though I don't think they change partners too much. I've just never been into those pairings idk why.

Chuck/Blair would've been way better if they hadn't reinserted Nate AGAIN last season.

I agree about the Skins pairings you mentioned.

Glee is not that bad cause it's a little more conservative when it comes to sex but I think it might end up like that by season 2.

That's def. true but I think they aren't gonna mess with it again for awhile. And it was a little more plausible because Nate had been her ex and highschool bf so it wasn't SO out of the blue.

And yeah I feel like generally Skins is a little more realistic though I def. felt that was true for the Cook/Freddie/Effy triangle for me.

Yeah I haven't read the Glee spoilers, I guess that's why I didn't equate Glee with that judging from the other comments.

I've given up on Gossip Girl. Glee is still OK cause it's more midwestern at least and it's only halfway through its first season but will probably end up like that too.

Yeah, the love triangles were def the weakest part of Skins IMO
