Ignorant, maybe. But there's an enormous gulf between "believing there to be such a thing as reverse racism" and, say, "We would have been so much better off if Hitler won the war."

So we should applaud subversive racism, since at least it's not being outright about it?

It's a pretty sad situation when someone deserves a pat on the back for being racist, because hey, they're not lynching anyone are they?

I wasn't saying we should applaud anyone, just that we shouldn't accuse people of racism when it isn't there.

Look. I get disgusted when freepers call Obama an "affirmative action" president. I acknowledge that whites have it much better than people of color almost everywhere in the world. But griping about unfair double standards which harm whites and don't benefit PoCs is not racism. It's not even close.

It's not a "double standard" that's arisen out of context of systemic racism, though: it's more "accepted" (and I think a better word here is actually expected) for black women to be overweight than white women because that ties into undeniably harmful stereotypes about black people -- that they're lazy, that they're uneducated, etc. So, yeah. It's not "reverse racism"; it's the regular kind of racism.

EDIT: Not to mention size-ism, etc. Intersectionality.
