113: I feel bad for your fellow Zutarians, OP. I'm not in the fandom myself, but you remind me of one of the crazy Harry/Hermione shippers that makes the rest of us look bad. Do your fandom a favor and drink a nice cup of stfu. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
116: So . . . Imagining a man being pregnant when that's technically biologically impossible makes you feel like less of a freak than imagining a man who has some weight issues even though having weight issues is completely possible and natural?
. . . Right . . . That makes total sense, OP. Really. Complete and total sense.
135: I don't really know where to begin organizing my thoughts on this one. It's not that I'm filled with "OMG RAEG!!11!!" so much as it is that I just disagree and am not sure where to begin. This is going to be a rather long response, though, so be prepared for that.
I guess, in the end, I feel like you're being a bit unfair. No, I don't think John was in the right for telling Sam that if he "walked out that door" then he should "never come back." However, like Dean said in the episode where they talked about that ("Bugs," I believe it was), Sam said some pretty choice words himself. I got the feeling that the fight had gotten so bad that by that point John was just saying things out of anger, and so was Sam. This was further shown by how they reunited in "Shadow." If I remember, John brought to light the fact that they got in a "pretty bad fight" and that it had been "a long time" since they'd seen each other -- to which Sam followed up with, "Too long" before they hugged.
That doesn't exactly look like disowning to me. That looks more like John said something that he regretted, and they just spent a long time apart before they were able to see each other/talk about it again. John still very obviously loved Sam; it's just that he -- just like his youngest son -- was bullheaded and proud and because of that things didn't get resolved very easily.
Now, from the sound of your secret, it sounds to me like you might think I'm making excuses for John -- like maybe I'm forgiving too easily. Well . . . maybe I am, but I don't think so. For me personally, I think the reason I can see past John's faults is because I actually did have an abusive parent, and I haven't spoken to her for over five years. What she did to me was far worse than anything John did to Sam, despite all his faults, and I can see that, I guess, because of how bad things could have been for Sam -- because of how bad they were for me. I can see that I would have killed for my mother to have loved me like John loved both of his boys.
So . . . no, I don't think Sam forgave John too easily. I don't think what John did was bad enough to warrant eternal hatred. John loved his sons. Yes, he made mistakes, but what parent doesn't? John did the best he could for those boys with what he was given -- the best he could to keep them safe -- and in the end, he ended up selling his soul and spending over one hundred years in hell to spare one of his sons from death.
If that alone doesn't get him Father of the Year award, then I really don't know what does.
147: So because she's overweight she can't be a role model for young girls? I don't know a thing about her, so I don't know if she's a good person or not, but I should think that being a role model extends to far beyond your outside appearance. Being a role model depends on who you are and what you do, not what you look like. Stop being such a shallow jerkass and get over yourself, please.
155: Lol, I know what you mean, OP. :) I'll watch things with them in which they're not together, but I still love seeing them together. They're pretty much the BFFL Dream Team, and I hope they continue to work together even after Supernatural is over (kind of like how Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are in lots of movies together).
